Dr. Joseph G. Allen is a professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, director of Harvard’s Healthy Buildings Program, and Founder and CEO of 9 Foundations, Inc. Widely recognized as a leading authority on healthy buildings, he has helped shape both the science and broader public conversation around how indoor environments fundamentally shape health, performance, and sustainability. He is the coauthor of Healthy Buildings: How Indoor Spaces Can Make You Sick—or Keep You Well, coined the term “forever chemicals”, and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He leads a team of Harvard-trained scientists at 9 Foundations developing a suite of patented Healthy Buildings Technologies—H.E.A.A.L., ALIGN, MATRIX, and TWIN—now deployed across millions of square feet globally for Fortune 500 companies including Amazon and JPMorgan Chase. His work has been featured on 60 Minutes, he is a regular contributor to The New York Times and Harvard Business Review, and he keynoted the first-ever White House Summit on Indoor Air Quality.
