Vinay Gangadhar is an AI Hardware Architect at Microsoft, where he works across the full AI systems stack—including accelerator architecture exploration, AI model co-design, datacenter infrastructure, and performance modeling and optimizations with a deployment-aware inference software stack. He has 7+ years of experience in the AI hardware space. Previously, he was the lead architect at SimpleMachines, driving the architecture definition of an AI accelerator chip through to the end product. He also contributed to architecture exploration and SoC design at Cerebras Systems and Rivos startups. Vinay holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he led research on open-source GPGPUs and dataflow-programmable accelerators. He holds multiple granted patents and has authored papers in top-tier architecture conferences.
